Wine glasses overflowing with the local nectar are raised up, while a close eye is kept on the sky. How many shooting stars can we count and will we still be able to count them at the end of this winey evening?
The “Calici di stelle” or Wine glasses under the stars event will be held as always on August 10th. Tourists and residents alike can sing a hymn to Bacchus on one of the most suggestive nights in the year, which offers them the chance to enjoy “the showers of tears of St. Lawrence” in the company of a good wine.
Historic town centres and squares, splendid castles and villas create the setting for lovers of good wines on August 10th, when they can taste the best wines from many of the local cellars.This increasingly popular event introduces people to the quality products that are the true expression of the local heritage.
Under the guidance of expert sommeliers and wine experts, the falling stars also unite wine with art, for this magical evening is often enhanced by other events, such as concerts, pageants and theatre performances, often ending with a firework display. Some cellars are also open in honour of this mid summer event.
